History
Bally’s was built on the corner of South Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo Road. It is actually the original site of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in 1973 and Bally’s took it over in 1985. It consisted of 2,084 rooms in what is known today as the Indigo tower (previously the North tower). At the time it was the worlds largest hotel! In 1984 the Jubilee tower (known as the South tower) was built to add another 730 rooms. The hotel covers 43 acres of property and is owned by Caesar’s Entertainment Group.
Here is my real take on Bally’s:
The Ballys hotel room are big and a great value for the price. The Jubilee rooms are they way to go, since they were completely renovated top to bottom in September 2013 which means a newer bed – plus they all have a refrigerator and a coffee maker. The casino is not very exciting and has a laid back generic feel. The Bally’s location on the strip is prime – it’s connected to the Paris casino and a short walk to Cromwell, Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, Caesars and the Bellagio.
Rooms
Bally’s offers over 2,800 and 95% of them are comfortable rooms and suites (standard, deluxe, junior suite, tower suite, grand suite or celebrity suite room).
- The Jubilee (South) Tower is the newer tower and was gutted and completely updated in September 2013. Newer updated big rooms with a fridge.
- The Indigo (North) Tower is the older original tower that was last updated in 2004. Standard rooms that are basic and usually clean.
Both towers offer rooms with a view of the Las Vegas strip. The Jubilee tower is closer to the strip, but the Indigo tower has better strip views.
The hotel also features a townhouse suite or penthouse suite for those who want the complete luxury experience, but if you’re looking for that why stay at Ballys?
Food
When you are ready for something to eat, Bally’s has a number of amazing restaurants on the property, including the BLT Steakhouse where you can get incredible steaks as well as seafood such as Alaskan King Crab legs or lobster tails. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of wines to choose from. If you are in the mood for Italian fare, Buca Cafe Italiano has many great menu items like Chicken Parmigiana,Spicy Chicken Rigatoni,Lasagna and more. There are several other in-house restaurants for you to enjoy such as Nosh, Sea: The Thai Experience, Tequila Taqueria, Sbarro, Java Coast and Nathan’s Famous where you can find anything you may be craving.
Fun!
If you are looking for great entertainment while staying at Bally’s, the casino has many events such as the Jubilee Review, the famous production where you can still see a show with the iconic Vegas showgirls. Jubilee has been running continuously on the Las Vegas Strip since 1981. You can also experience Magic- a Paranormal mind reading magic show, Tribute- celebrating many Country music stars and 50 Shades -a comedy parody of the famed 50 Shades of Gray.
When you are ready to enjoy gaming in Bally’s casino, they have it all. The casino offers everything from poker and keno to a race and sports book, a number of table games and of course, many slot games (new and old) throughout the casino floor.
